Güney Okumuş holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences and is currently is a Master’s student in International Relations, specializing in Globalization and Public Policy at the Free University of Brussels (ULB). His main research interest is Central Asia, currently writing his M.A. thesis on the EU’s strategy change towards the Central Asian region in 2017.
After successfully completing his studies, he wishes to build upon his acquired knowledge and expertise on EU – Central Asia relations, as well as the individual Central Asian countries, further exploring respective cultural elements and geographical properties, along with political particularities.
His research at EIAS focuses on EU relations with Central Asia as a region, as well as the EU and its Member States’ bilateral relations with the 5 Central Asian states.
