Christopher Ayres has recently finished his undergraduate degree in History and Politics at the University of East Anglia (UEA). He intends to continue his studies at UEA, pursuing a Master’s Degree in International Relations.
As part of his degree, Christopher Ayres has produced several research pieces on the Belt and Road Initiative. Of particular focus was the current state of China-Africa economic relations and what China’s investments on the continent suggest about the Belt and Road’s overarching motivations. This has included a particular emphasis on energy, specifically the importance of natural resource access across Central and East Africa. At EIAS, Christopher Ayres will extend this research, investigating the future for trilateral relations between China, Africa and the European Union.
