In Brussels, EIAS continued to fulfil its role as a beacon and reference
point for visitors to
the EU, briefing them on recent developments within the EU institutions.
In 2005, EIAS
welcomed many prominent government officials, academics, researchers
and civil society
actors from all across the globe to its premise through the EU Visitors
Programme and other
channels.
These informal visits allowed for candid exchanges of information
and open
discussion on a wide range of issues:
