Visitors to our offices

In Brussels, EIAS continued to fulfil its role as a beacon and reference point for visitors to the EU, briefing them on recent developments within the EU institutions.

In 2005, EIAS welcomed many prominent government officials, academics, researchers and civil society actors from all across the globe to its premise through the EU Visitors Programme and other channels.

These informal visits allowed for candid exchanges of information and open discussion on a wide range of issues:

January 2005
EIAS welcomed many distinguished visitors amongst others, Dr Roger Svensson from Sweden; Richard Carden, Advisor DG Trade; Matin Chowdhury, Industrialist in Bangladesh; and Asanga Welikala from Sri Lanka.

February 2005
Amongst others, Thierry Aube, a researcher from Paris; Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Leader of the Opposition of Kashmir; Ali Raza Syed, President of ACKC in Brussels; and Katinka Barysch of the CER in London.

September 2005
Amongst others, Peter Stephens from the World Bank Group, Singapore; Heiner Hänggi of the DCAF, Switzerland; David Doyle from the ACCA; Bertrand Fort with ASEF; a delegation from the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK; and a scholar from the Shanghai Institute for International Relations.

October 2005
