EIAS Associate Researcher Grzegorz Stec on the Belt and Road’s Implications for Poland

Poland plays a pivotal role in China’s Belt and Road Initiative, serving as a key gateway connecting Europe with China, particularly with construction of a major freight railroad that runs from Wuhan, China to Madrid, Spain with a major stopping point at Warsaw, Poland.

The Polish scholar believes even brighter days are ahead, since his nation holds a long and rich history of bridging Western and Europe, which can solidify its position on connections with the Middle East and Asia.

Stec also highlighted how Warsaw hopes Beijing can spur a better global business climate while European companies are seeking to invest and trade more with China.
