On December 8, Uzbekistan will celebrate the 26th Anniversary of the adoption of its Constitution. The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted on December 8, 1992. On April 24, 2003 some amendments and addenda were introduced into it. It has been worked out based on the experience of developed countries, reflecting the will and spirit of the people of Uzbekistan, their public consciousness and level of culture. Furthermore, the Constitution has embedded fundamental ideas and principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

During its journey as an independent nation, national legislation system was established in the country based on the principles and provisions enshrined in the Constitution. The effective implementation of reforms in all spheres of our life served as a foundation for the progress of Uzbekistan’s social, economic, political and military potential.
